The European Association for Aquatic Mammals (E.A.A.M.) is an organisation of people interested in marine mammals in human care, in a zoological environment or in the wild, and includes veterinarians, biologists, zoo and marine park directors and managers, trainers (husbandry professionals), researchers, students and other persons who devote a significant amount of time to the welfare of marine mammals through research, medical care, training, education, conservation, management and related activities.

Aeroshuttle (CARRIS Nº96)
Available everyday, every 30 minutes between 7am and 11pm, the aeroshuttle connects Gare Oriente - Airport - Entrecampos - Sete Rios - Praça de Espanha.
Tickets (3,50€) can be purchased onboard and also in the Tourism Office at arrivals (public area).

Taxis
There are two taxi stands within the perimeter of the airport, one at arrivals and the other at departures.
The fare on the taxi meter should read 2,50€ (daytime pick-up). Outside the city limits, city fares are charged per kilometer (km=0,42). 1,60€ is charged for the transportation of luggage or animals. Before taking a taxi, inquire about the fare*. You can get more info and purchase a Taxi Voucher at the Tourism Information Counter in the airport's Arrivals Hall.
* An additional 20% is charged for services on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays and for nighttime service from 9pm to 6am.
Lisbon Metro
Although there is no direct connection to the airport, the nearest metro stations are 15 minutes away by bus (Gare do Oriente or Areeiro Stations).

Arriving to Lisbon Zoo
The Lisbon Zoo, located in the centre of the city, is a place of very easy access, with an excellent railway (Linhas de Sintra, Azambuja e Fertagus), underground railway and buses network, a good highway system and is very close to the airport.
The Lisbon Zoo main entrance is located at the Praça Marechal Humberto Delgado, Sete-Rios.

Basic Facts
Banks
Banks are open from 8.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. five working days a week.
Portugal has a national network of cash machines (ATMs) identified by the symbol MB (Multibanco), from which you can withdraw cash 24 hours a day.
Communications
In public telephone booths, coins and special cards can be used. They are sold in Portugal Telecom shops, post offices and some kiosks and news-stands (with a sign indicating this).
To call abroad from Portugal, dial 00, the country code, the area code and then the number wanted. The National Emergency Number is 112
Internet access is available on payment in some cafés and in numerous post offices that have the Netpost service. Areas in motor-ways and shopping centres, there are duly marked "wi-fi" areas where it is possible to access wireless Internet.
Climate
Portugal is one of the warmest European countries. Spring and summer months are usually sunny and temperature maximum are very high during July and August. Temperatures are slightly lower in the coastal areas, because of the influence of the sea. There are often warm, sunny days in autumn. The wettest season is from November to March. Lisbon mean annual temperature is 17°C (63°F), with average temperatures in winter of 13°C (55°F) and 27°C (80°F) in summer.
